Currently in-network with Aetna and as of 12/10/25 Optum Plans. For those that have other insurance you would be considered out-of-network.

Please contact your insurance company to inquire about your out-of-network mental health benefits. We encourage our prospective clients/legal guardians to contact their insurance company to understand their outpatient mental health benefits and whether they have “in-network” or “out-of network” coverage. Here are some general questions you may want to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • Is there an annual deductible amount? If yes, has the amount been met?

  • How much does my plan reimburse for each psychotherapy session?

  • What does the insurance company consider a calendar year?

  • Amount of sessions allowed per calendar year?

  • How do I seek reimbursement?

Why Some Clients Choose to Pay Privately for Therapy

Many clients choose to pay out of pocket for mental health services rather than going through their insurance provider. Doing so allows for greater privacy and control over your care.

When insurance is involved, therapists are typically required to assign a mental health diagnosis in order for services to be reimbursed. This diagnosis becomes part of your permanent medical record, which may have future implications—such as affecting eligibility or rates for life or health insurance.

Insurance companies may also limit the number of sessions, dictate the type of therapy provided, or require access to your clinical records. By choosing private pay, you and your therapist can determine the course of treatment without external restrictions, and your personal health information remains confidential between you and your provider.

Payment is required prior to each session and may be paid by cash, check or credit card/HSA. A monthly statement will be provided to clients that do seek out-of-network reimbursement that include the necessary billing and diagnostic codes.

"In every adult there lurks a child— an eternal child, something that is always becoming, is never completed, and calls for unceasing care, attention, and education. That is the part of the personality which wants to develop and become whole".
